LedgerYour books stay on your Mac.
LedgerCaddy is built so that your books never leave your Mac. This page explains the little we do collect, and why.
The short version
- Your books, transactions, attachments and backups stay on your Mac. We never see them.
- The app has no account, no sign-in, no analytics and no advertising.
- The only time the app talks to the internet is to check a license key you entered.
- Purchases are handled by our payment provider, who is the merchant of record.
The LedgerCaddy app
Your financial data. Every book you create is a single file stored where you choose on your Mac. Transactions, accounts, payees, categories, attachments, reports and automatic backups are all written to your Mac and nowhere else. LedgerCaddy does not upload, sync or transmit your books, and DART Management Inc. has no way to access them.
No accounts, no tracking. LedgerCaddy does not require an account and does not include analytics, crash reporting, advertising or any third-party tracking code.
Free trial. To run the 14-day trial the app stores a small record of the date you first opened it on your Mac. That record never leaves your Mac and contains no personal information.
License activation. When you enter a license key, the app sends the key and the name of your Mac to our payment provider's license service to confirm it is valid and to count the activation against your license (up to two Macs). The app repeats this check occasionally in the background. No financial data or book contents are ever sent. If the check cannot be completed because you are offline, the app keeps working.
Updates. LedgerCaddy does not check for updates automatically. New versions are downloaded from this website when you choose to.
Purchases
Purchases of LedgerCaddy are processed by our payment provider, which acts as the merchant of record and handles payment, taxes, receipts, license keys and refunds. When you buy, you provide your email address and payment details to them, not to us. Their privacy policy governs that information. We receive your email address and order details so we can deliver your license and provide support, and we use them only for that purpose.
This website
This site is a static page with no cookies, forms or analytics of our own. It is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may record standard server logs such as IP address and browser type. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may also log the request. No other third-party services are used.
Support email
If you write to us, we keep your message so we can reply and follow up. We do not add you to any mailing list and do not share your address with anyone.
Children
LedgerCaddy is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top. Because we collect so little, changes will be rare.
